Google Earth 5

Google Earth is a software product that allows you to have a look at the Earth's surfase while sittling at your PC screen. This applience uses satellite images and topologic information to convert this data into 3D model. The maps can be easily enhanced with additional features such as wiki entries, youtube moovies, and pictures. To learn more about the program's features check Google's online user guide.

The distinguishing features of Google Earht version 5 are:
  • Ocean views;
  • Historical imagery;
  • Tours;

Ocean layer allows one to explore ocean floor and add some seafaring layers, such as information from the sites devoted to seamen, sea adwentures and shipwreck, youtube videos, and so on. Some of the famous under-water locations are still unavailable at the Google Earth, but the promis to include them in the future programm versions.

For historical imagery function there are used satellite pictures of the Earth surfase that are avilable. But most of the times these pictures are insufficiant and you can hardly find a photo which were made more than 10 years ago, and they are less detailed than the present-day ones.

The tours feature let one share the routs with other users of Google Earth, or to trace somebody else's routs. The feature allows you to add soma additional data, such as text, videos, audio, and images in order to give explanations to some to the landmarks.
